Samih Al- Qassem When the sun set in my home, When the moon began to roam, They said I had, at last, vanished, They believed that I was finished. Yet, they were frightened, terrified They gazed at me, spell-bound, horrified When they saw me touch the trees, And address the stars in the cool breeze, Because I came back. They saw my face! They heard the sound of my solid pace, I came back, armed with solid stones, With patriotic love raging in my bones. Then fled the lurking, vicious vampires And vanished the dream of Zionist empires. |
